Managing product list in Data Warehouse

Hi,

We are using Segment to collect data in our B2B E-commerce application. Also, we follow your documentation on the product list (Order Completed). Right now, I use Power Bi to make reports of the data we collected from Segment, but when I try to get my orders I have a column products with Strings.

'[{"name":"product1","product_id":"101","quantity":2,"sku":"SHE101"},
{"name":"product2","product_id":"102","quantity":4,"sku":"SHE102"},
{"name":"product3","product_id":"103","quantity":1,"sku":"SHE103"}]'

Is there something I can do to receive the data on different rows ?

  • Samuel Belanger great question! We have a feature that can be enabled from our side which parses nested arrays out of spec'd ecommerce events and writes them into their own tables. So a Products array on `Order Completed` would become something like an `order_completed_products` table that you could query and join to the order event via the `OrderId`.

But note this feature is very picky with the exact naming of the property values based on our e-commerce spec. For example, if customer sends  id   instead of  product_id, the feature won’t work.

If you are interested in enabling this, can you please write in an internal ticket?
