Points: The rankings you see on the leaderboard are based on points earned by engaging in the community. Members who reach 200 points are able to select an item from our Segment’s swag store. There are several ways to earn points:

  • Answering a question ✅ (25 points)
    • Your reply is marked as the best answer in order to solve an open question. This helps both the original poster and others quickly navigate to the best answer on a particular question thread. 
  • Creating a new topic 🆕 (10 points)
    • These can be conversations in our discussion forum or questions in our Q&A forum. It helps to add value to the community through new insights and best practices. 
  • Posting a reply 💬 (5 points)
    • You replied to a question. This is a great way to share your knowledge and help others. 
  • Receiving a like 👍 (2 points)
    • Your post or reply receives a like by another member. Likes indicate that other members find what you are sharing helpful.

Badges: Visual tags on member profiles for special achievements and engagement recognized by the Community Team. Here’s an overview of our badges and ways to earn them.

  • Top Supporter
    • Recognized as a silent yet engaging member of the community by regularly logging in and viewing content
  • Key Contributor
    • Recognized as a helpful contributor to the community by regularly logging in and engaging
    • Examples of ways to earn the Key Contributor badge: 
      • Share a unique use case for discussion 
      • Helping others by sharing your knowledge via a minimum or 5 replies and 5 topics created
  • Advocate
    • Recognized as a Segment Advocate by sharing your customer story with our customer advocacy team
  • Segment Subject Matter Expert (SME) 
    • Demonstrate your knowledge and expertise by being highly engaged, collaborative, and helpful within the community. This is a top level award that comes with a special community recognition, privileges, and access!
    • Members can self-nominate. Alternatively, SMEs are also selected by our Community Membership Team. If you’d like to be considered as a Segment SME, you may self-nominate by emailing community@segment.com
  • Beta Tester
    • Participate in an open Beta Test and share your feedback
