The Getting Started Guide gives self-service customers the option to be guided through a more managed onboarding path. It is comprised of three main components:A new Workspace Strength score to guide the early customer journey and recommend the best next task; Prescriptive, guided tasks taking users through improving their implementation, and thereby increasing their Workspace Strength; A longer-form companion walkthrough guide  to help users discover how and why workspace strength should be improved.

In Q4 2021, Segment upgraded the AWS S3 integration to improve its security. The new, more secure AWS S3 destination uses an Identity Access Management (IAM) role designated by the customer during setup, which improves privacy and security and aligns with AWS best practices.Segment is now moving the legacy Amazon S3 destination into Limited Access. This means that:You will see an in-app banner on the old Amazon S3 destination with recommendations and instructions to migrate to the new AWS S3 with IAM destination. You will be prevented from updating any old Amazon S3 destinations, but Segment continues to guarantee delivery and support for both destinations.Customers using our old Amazon S3 destination are encouraged to migrate to the new, more secure AWS S3 with IAM destination today.

React Native 2.0 is a major version upgrade to the existing React Native library. Analytics React Native provides a lightweight, modern, JavaScript-centric instrumentation experience for mobile apps.For more information, see the documentation for React Native 2.0.

On August 31, 2022, Segment will end support and maintenance for Analytics.js Classic, and on February 28, 2023, Segment will remove access to Analytics.js Classic.For additional information and instructions on how to upgrade to Analytics.js 2.0, see the migration documentation.

Regional Segment in the EU gives you Connections, Protocols, and Personas with data ingestion, processing, storage, and audience creation done on infrastructure hosted in the EU. It is currently available to New Business Tier customers.Segment makes it easy to collect, unify, and activate your customer data in any system where you need it while giving you the tools and controls to help enable compliance with EU data regulations like GDPR and Schrems II.For more details, see the Regional Segment documentation and blog post.

Journey designers can now configure time criteria to set when users exit a journey and how long until they can re-enter. This helps customers personalize the customer experience at scale to deepen customer relationships.Learn more in Segment’s Journey Re-entry documentation.

Engage now supports the editing of real time Audiences and Traits, which allows users to make nuanced changes to existing Traits and Audiences in situations where cloning or building from scratch may not suit their use case.Learn more in the Engage Audiences documentation.

Entry Pause helps better manage your many lifecycle campaigns and Journeys by preventing new users from entering the journey while existing members of the Journeys will continue to flow through the Journey.Learn in Segment’s Journey’s documentation.
