Progressive Web Application as a Source

Hello!Has anyone used Segment together with a PWA Source? My current set up has a React based website as Source and the Team is looking at offering an app-like experience in 2025. From what I understand, Page calls need some attention. And then there is offline activities that need looking into.Can events from both regular website and PWA flow to the same single Javascript Source? If I do that, how can I tell regular web usage apart from PWA?Another option would be to add a second Javascript Source. Prefer not to go down this path as I'll have to manage 2 copies of all the Destinations

A recipe for fast-tracing your loyalty program

Interested in building better loyalty flows within Segment? I’ve gone over Segment and Voucherify integration to see how to use the power of both to improve key loyalty workflows with no extra dev work. Here are some nuggets I found:Using Segment’s computed traits to enrich member profiles with specific behavioral data like how often someone shops or visits your store. Then using this data within Voucherify to build new reward actions and member segments. Using Insert Functions to set up specific triggers that automatically reward members – like sending them a reward coupon from Voucherify when they hit a loyalty milestone. Hi,I have 15 different content websites on different domains. If I visit first domain example abc.com, I get A123 as anonymous_id but when I visit 2nd domain def.com, I get D987 as anonymous_id. What I want to achieve is for Segment to know, it was me on both domains.I can use query string for 2 domains but for 15, it gets complicated. Is there a better solution? Thanks,

Does segment support options for importing non-user level data? i.e. Product Catalog, Class Schedule etc. The use case would be to get a class schedule from Zoom api then when the actual attendee data is ingested the class metadata would be available as additional data points for segmenting etc.

Best way to track conversions for Google Ads?

Trying to figure out how to track conversions for ad clicks. I currently send GCLID to Google Analytics 4, but have no way of telling whether GA4 will pick it up as an ad-based conversion and send it to Google Ads. (On the Google side, I have GA4 linked to Google Ads with key events marked as conversion actions.)Here’s my setup: when a user arrives on the site with a gclid in the URL, I store the gclid in a cookie. After they sign up for a free trial and finish the onboarding (inside the web app), I send a “New Signup” event from the server to Segment with the user’s email and gclid from the cookie. Then I have a Google Analytics 4 Cloud destination set up like this:I have no idea if this will work though, since Google doesn’t provide a mechanism for actually testing ad clicks. Do I have the mapping set up correctly?I also played around with the Google Ads Conversion destination. My understanding is that it’s a way of bypassing Google Analytics and sending conversions directly to Googl

Hi All,I have a use case where I want to pass track and identify events to Sailthru. Sailthru only takes in traits as input. Track events have properties so i wrote down a destination insert function to change properties to traits but it is not working.Has anyone else worked on a similar thing and has a better solution? Hello Segment community,I am trying to connect our Facebook page as a source in Segment to pull the page insights data into our warehouse. Looking at metrics such as: page_impressions page_engaged_users page_posts_impressions page_fan_addsWas thinking of setting a Python script that pulls the metrics from Graph API endpoints then send to Segment as custom events using HTTP API.I tried connecting the Facebook ads cloud object source in Segment but this would only get us paid campaigns insights as Collections. Any thoughts on how to achieve so? It would be good to know if any in the community tackled in this pipeline via Segment.Cheers,Moni

Klaviyo Issue : facing Issue with the latest update of Segment UI

After the latest Segment UI update, I encountered an error where custom attributes cannot be added to new profile data when sending it from Segment to Klaviyo. Specifically, there’s no option to map the field when the “upsert profile” setting is selected for Klaviyo as a destination. This issue does not affect existing events, which continue to work fine. this is only happening in case an upsert profile is selected in Klaviyo as a destination

Modifying Payloads in Destination Insert Functions

Hi all, I’m trying to set up a Destination Insert function which would take my event, do some light modification and then send the modified version as a key to the destination. Is that possible? The use case is that Hubspot Cloud Actions destination expects a very specific way to code Track events. Rather than having a mapping for each event I wanted to have just one mapping and then use a function to transform the name of the event to the Hubspot format

Since RETL was released I am debating whether or not RETL is a replacement for SQL Traits. What you think?

Major Issues with Klayvio

Trying to get Segment events to deliver to Klayvio but having major issues. Track events are not being delivered. Have tried to map events but have been pretty unsuccessful here other than seemingly getting identify() to work. I keep receiving the below error: Segments docs on how to map events to Klayvio are pretty barebones. It also seems based on Segments docs that the Klayvio integration should be pretty seamless but that is definitely not the case in my experience.

Assistance Needed for GA4 Audience Integration with Segment

I'm seeking some insight on our GA4 (Cloud) setup. We have completed the setup on Segment. However, we're not seeing the audience appear in GA4 under 'audiences'. How do you typically send audience data to tGA4 account (Firebase) not web? We've reviewed and completed all the setup steps to the best of our knowledge.

Value sensitivity when pulling audiences

Hi there, My team is just starting with an implementation. A few questions on the sensitivity when building audiences.1.I know in the past my team had issues with Lytic’s capitalization sensitivity ie: TRUE vs. true. Is Segment also sensitive to capitalizations.2.Can Segment accept a N or Y for a yes or no answer?3.Are there any other data sensitivities that come into play while building audiences?

Hey all, I thought I would share a tip here in case someone else finds it useful. Recently, we needed to set up an integration from Google Lead Gen. None of the standard integrations from Google suited our needs, and we didn't want to use Zapier due to the additional costs. So, we created a source function and used the webhook integration from Google Lead Gen. This setup allowed us to send data to any of the sources connected to Segment.To understand the payload, we connected the source function to Google Lead Gen and inspected the incoming data. We then wrote the source function to transform the data into the correct format.The new Action-Based destinations in Segment are also beneficial because they make the mapping configuration straightforward.!-->

It’s not perfectly up-to-date, as I made this almost 2 years ago now, but this is how we are putting Segment at the center of our world.SourcesWe currently have 16 sources, mostly various front and back end engineering systems, python, ruby, js as well as our ios and android apps. In our typical setup, we have both a staging and prod system connected for testing, but do not connect our staging into the Engage portion to keep data clean. Warehouse & BIAll of our data flows into Redshift and we visualize in Looker. This is a work in progress for sure, but every day we add new reports to get ourselves more campaign performance data.DestinationsThis is where it gets fun in my opinion. We have everything from FullStory to Braze, Branch to Hubspot, Zendesk to Survicate, Google Ads to Optimizely. Needless to say, its a handful. In total, our roadmap is to get to 20 tools. Survey Solution Suggestions

Hello everyone! We are looking for a potential replacement for Alchemer to run surveys and collect product feedback. We need something that allows for multiple questions, logic-based paths and easy, lightweight implementation. Ideally it would integrate with Segment for easy triggers from Segment track events and streaming of survey data to various destinations. White labeling and a lightweight SDK or cloud-based solution would be great as well. Anyone have a solution they would recommend?

Hi everyone, I'm curious to learn more about how your companies are currently building their audience creation processes. Specifically, I'm interested in understanding which roles are involved in this process. Is it primarily handled by the marketing team, the data team, or the product teams?

Segment Unify Attribution Expectations

Our company currently uses Google and Facebook for most of our paid advertising, and we're trying to tie our customer's journey from web through to sign up of our app. We use Segment so started using their "Unify" service to try to figure out where our customers came from. However, after much tweaking and even reviewing our setup with Segment, we're still landing at about 48% of our customers signed up with no visibility into any pre-sign up activity (web viewing or ads clicked). Our customers mostly interact via mobile (very little desktop usage).The question I'm trying to answer for the team is if 48% non-attribution indicates a problem with our setup, or if due to the tightening of privacy and security lately, that's just the "new normal" for tracking user's journeys from web to sign-up? We tried asking Segment, but their response didn’t tell us much, so would love to get some feedback from this community. Any insight is greatly appreciated!
