Hi,I have some tracking issues with GA 4 integration.I have many people who are coming from different referrers but get attributed to “direct / none” because of the flow of our system. It works perfectly on Mixpanel but not so much with GA 4.The flow is the following :The user comes from referral A to page B, goes through an identification process, and then arrives on page C. On page C, we made four actions:track(“Authorized”) alias(newUserId) identify(newUserId) track(“SignedUp”)All the track actions “Signed Up” are in the direct / none channel because I think GA 4 does not understand that the track is from the previous user (before the identify) and not after. It seems the alias call is not used at all.But the track “Authorized” has good tracking.Is there something that we could do to say to GA 4, like mixpanel, to alias people?

Hi all, Can anyone share online video tutorials for setting up the ad destinations in the right manner so that we can track conversions and send through enhancements correctly using Segment. Seem to be having a little trouble in some instances and would like to view something on best practices or just general guides. Specifics: can you send through an enhanced conversion and a Restatement conversion for the same event to Google Ads Conversions destination? They will obviously be sent at the same time. I presume so but cant find anything to confirm. The Bing ads setup is easy enough but the setup of conversion goals in Microsoft Ads is  confusing as using Segment does not require us to add the UET tag to the site but the setup in Bing makes reference to it continually 

Hey guys, I am seeing thousands of identify calls on users profiles in Mixpanel, mostly occurring at the exact same time. This has only recently started. Anyone else experiencing the same?  The below are the sources that are vsisble in Mixpanel where I am seeing the huge number of Identify calls:segment_source_name:         mixpanel_actions_net_server_prodsegment_source_name:         segment_engage_prod

I am trying to set up a Destination Function that sends events to Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Transactional API endpoint. My goal is to trigger an email send whenever a specific event (e.g., "Order Confirmation") occurs in Segment Source. Can someone share example of js code which i can take as an example. I am not very good in creating a js code from scratch. Thanks.

I want to understand the benefits of choosing to put GTM destination on the Segment tool. As GTM can be directly implemented why use segment and what possible use case can be achieved via that.

Feature Request: Source Tracking for Traffic Acquisition on SegmentWe would like to request a feature to enable source tracking for traffic acquisition within Segment. This feature would allow us to easily pass source attribution data (such as UTM parameters, referrer information, and campaign details) to connected destinations. By capturing the source of traffic (e.g., organic search, paid campaigns, social media, email newsletters) and sending this information to our destinations, we can gain deeper insights into the effectiveness of different acquisition channels, optimize our marketing efforts, and better attribute conversions. This would streamline our reporting and analysis across various platforms, ensuring data consistency and improving overall campaign performance.

Hi - looking for guidance on how to implement onDelete in Action Destinations. I believe this is just triggered whenever a Segment user uses the deletion and suppression endpoints? What can I assume the payload looks like? Ideally the user can submit both userIds and companyIds and we can handle those conditionally.

Hi, so to track events, we do it by calling Segment's API methods (e.g., analytics.track()).Basically we create events to be tracked one-by-one. As this process takes quite some effort, I’m wondering if there’s any more automated way to track events and pages information?Thanks!

Hi, Is it possible to configure multiple Profiles Sync destinations for an Engage space? We want to set this up for one of the Engage spaces used in the production environment. Currently, we have configured the Profiles Sync destination to Snowflake. 

Hi All,I’m hoping that some others that use Hubspot’s CRM + Segment to extract and load data from there may be able to help with a question that I have. In Hubspot’s CRM data model, there are Contacts (people) and Companies (businesses…these are basically the same thing as Accounts in Salesforce’s data model). Each Contact can be associated with zero, one, or many Companies (so Contacts:Companies is N:N). Additionally, there is a way to designate the association between a Contact and one single Company as the “primary” association. Out of the box, there do NOT appear to be any fields in the Contacts data the Segment fetches for us that offer either:The full list of IDs for associated Companies The ID of the primary associated CompanyI’d like to find a way to have Segment extract and load at least option #2 (ID of the primary associated Company) and ideally option #1 (full list of IDs for associated Companies). Hello,I am currently tracking almost all the important events on our e-commerce website. Now, I want to use this data to send an abandoned cart email to the customer.How can I filter out the abandoned carts?I was thinking if the customer didn’t purchase anything in the next two hours then I can trigger it but if customer has removed an item from cart before that it can be empty.So what will be a good strategy?I am saving cart id but i am unable to compare last cart id of item added to cart and item purchased with each other. 

Since RETL was released I am debating whether or not RETL is a replacement for SQL Traits. What you think?

Hello!Has anyone used Segment together with a PWA Source? My current set up has a React based website as Source and the Team is looking at offering an app-like experience in 2025. From what I understand, Page calls need some attention. And then there is offline activities that need looking into.Can events from both regular website and PWA flow to the same single Javascript Source? If I do that, how can I tell regular web usage apart from PWA?Another option would be to add a second Javascript Source. Prefer not to go down this path as I'll have to manage 2 copies of all the Destinations

Hi everyone,We're integrating a new destination into Segment that requires us to change the groupId in our Group API calls. Currently, the groupId is set to customer_name (e.g., "CUSTOMERNAME"), which is a recognized unique identifier in our business. However, the new destination requires the groupId to be customer_key, a different unique identifier that maps 1:1 with customer_name but is represented as a string like "c9r0239nfoe".The issue is that we also use Mixpanel and Intercom as destinations, both of which receive data from our existing Segment API calls. I’m trying to understand:What impact will changing the groupId upstream have on these existing destinations? Will the data in Mixpanel or Intercom become fragmented (e.g., old data linked to customer_name and new data linked to customer_key)? Are there be

Is there a way to access the "event" history of each user and not just the last 14 days? Is it also possible to see a list with the options of my events, even those that are inactive?

Interested in building better loyalty flows within Segment? I’ve gone over Segment and Voucherify integration to see how to use the power of both to improve key loyalty workflows with no extra dev work. Here are some nuggets I found:Using Segment’s computed traits to enrich member profiles with specific behavioral data like how often someone shops or visits your store. We're looking to push existing Segment.io events to GA4 or Google Ads to optimize GAds for certain in-app events such as buying a subscription. User signed up on our website. We registered this event with the help of Google Ads script as conversion, and the contacts of user appear in segment. Once the user will convert into paying user according to Segment, can we send this event back as offline conversion to Google Ads via your API integration?We managed to send event to GA4 using GA4 Cloud Destination (they appear as successfully sent) but we can't see them in GA4.We need some help to make this work.

I am using Big Query as a reverse ETL source and a webhook to dittofeed as the destination.The issue I am facing is that I want to set the `type` property to be `identify` for the reverse etl records, but segment by default is setting them to be `track`.Is there any way I can change the events for certain models be to be `identify`?Thanks!

Hi,I have 15 different content websites on different domains. If I visit first domain example abc.com, I get A123 as anonymous_id but when I visit 2nd domain def.com, I get D987 as anonymous_id. What I want to achieve is for Segment to know, it was me on both domains.I can use query string for 2 domains but for 15, it gets complicated. Is there a better solution? Thanks,

Hey everybody, I was wondering what would be the best way to use Segment within a CLI tool. Should we directly embed the write-key and send data to Segment or should we use a proxy service which then redirects the data to Segment?How do we protect against abuse? Everybody can just extract the write-key and spam anonymous_ids to exhaust our MTUs.  Best,Max

We're having trouble mapping Offline Click Conversion events from our Segment Track calls to the appropriate Conversion Action in Google Ads.In the Segment destination, the mapping appears to be correct and the dashboard says we have hundreds of successful deliveries to Google Ads of our 2 track events. Test events also appear to get successful 200 responses.In the data payload, we're mapped to the correct Conversion Action ID and we're sending that, the Conversion timestamp and the email address of the user.In Google Ads Conversion Settings, we have the following:- Enhanced conversions for leads -> Managed through Google Tag Manager- Enhanced conversions -> Managed through Google Ads API.
