Last Computed Trait

I am looking to create a computed trait of the last order before May 1st; however, when I pull the preview, it’s bringing in contacts that have an order completed beyond May 1st. Check out the screenshots below and let me know where I’m going wrong. Thank you!

Upgrading Intercom destination from Classic to Intercom Cloud Mode (Actions)

We are planning to upgrade our Intercom Destination, so we just want to know what things we should consider while upgrading Destination?Do we need to create new Destination, add every thing like filters, transformations, mappings. or  we just can upgrade existing Destination with few steps.

How to manage Active Account Associations

I’m curious what techniques the community has used to manage user > account associations, when users could belong to multiple Accounts but no way to ‘ungroup’. This is relevant for a lot of scenarios, but especially in the case of using Account-based audiences for Journeys and email. For example, let’s say John Doe - john.doe@gmail.com - is associated with ‘Blue Inc.’ via group(). John leaves Blue Inc. and joins ‘Red Inc’, and we capture that with group() some time later either via form fill or our offline data. Now John is associated with two companies in Segment, but only ‘active’ at Red Inc. We ‘know’ John isn’t at Blue Inc. anymore, but cannot remove the association.We create an Account-based audience that Blue Inc. falls into, but Red does not, and want to push the list of all associated users to Marketo for email. John Doe falls into this audience because he’s still associated to Blue Inc. in Segment, so he gets an email when we wouldn’t have wanted that. I don’t think it’s as

Identify Across Sources

We currently have several Node.js sources, and each user has the same user ID across all sources. Is it necessary to call identify in each of the sources or is calling it from one sufficient?Thanks in advance!

CAPI Connectors: SA360 / Meta / LinkedIn

Hello, I am seeking information on Segment's Paid Media Connectors and their capabilities for SA360, Meta, LinkedIn, and Google Ads. I am aware that the existing connectors can match email addresses. However, our Marketing department is interested in matching based on emails as well as other fields like phone numbers and addresses. Are these features available in the current connectors? If not, has there been any development of custom connectors to accommodate these requirements?

Sending an Audience from one Segment Journey to another

Hi Friends!We’ve started using Journeys some months ago, and as we’ve matured our use cases we’ve started experimenting with customer experiences.Would love some advice on how to chain journeys together. We have a use case to experiment the customer experience during a feature onboarding flow. We’d like to experiment with application onboarding experience, messaging, and in-app messaging.To do this, we need to split our audience into 3 branches. Each branch then moves the customer into a journey. (3 journeys) What i’m trying to do is create an “allocation” journey that branches the audience into 3 “random” branches. I’ve created a couple of test journeys to illustrate this.Then a “stream” journey that defines one experience. I was able to do this by defining the entry condition step to mean that a customer  The issue i’m having is that the numbers of customers starting in the stream journey is erratic.  Example we have 43k users in each branch in the “allocation” journey but only 227 s

GA4 Destination Setup - Anyone open to double checking my Mapping?

Hi awesome community,I’m new to Segment and GA4.  I have set up a GA4 test account and setup a Segment GA4 Web destination to push to it.  I can see data is going into the test account (however it’s not yet 24 hours so detail limited).  However, my test account is recording higher visitors than production.The GA4 Web destination setup is much more complex than the others I have done and I’m not sure it’s right.I don’t suppose anyone would be willing to do a video call with me to double-check my work?Thanks!Lorraine

Hi all,Sorry for the basic question.  Is there a way I can see my backend and frontend events on the website?  We have all the event names documented but there are many and I’m not always sure what page/section they are referring to.

Can Segment be configured to selectively hash certain data or fields when exporting data? #doublehashing

Has anyone experienced scenarios where hashed email addresses are fed into Segment? We need to create audiences that will be sent back to our Marketing estate, retaining the original encryption of the email addresses. My understanding is that Segment hashes the outbound audience list, which would result in the email field being double hashed. Is there a feature in Segment that allows us to choose which fields to hash? I presume this setting would be in the associated tracking plan?

Error in accepting team invitaion

Hello, may I know do anyone encounter this situation? My team member have send me a workspace to me invitation through the email. It requires me to sign in, but I have no account so I created one, after that I cannot get into the workspace, do there are any solutions?

Inherited property from previous events

In the context of an app implementation, we are using screen calls and track calls to collect events from our front-end.Is there a way, using destination functions or something else, to force track calls to inherit some of the properties from the preceding screen call? The idea is to add context to events in order to know on which screen they happened.This is needed in my case because some downstream destinations do not support this screen>event hierarchy and do not display screen properties to events. I see that Mixpanel has this concept of “borrowed property” which is cool but limited (and only works in Mixpanel obviously).Thanks!

Control Groups

I use segment to maintain audiences.  At times I want to activate an audience by downloading a CSV file from segment and using it to trigger for example a discount for an audience.  for each audience I would like to maintain a say 5% control group, so that I can prove the audience behavior is triggered by the discount.  I don’t seem to be able to find a method within Segment to be able to do this.  Instead I need to run my downloaded file through an SFMC feature that will split out a random group of 5% from the audience.Does anybody know of a way that such a task can be done within Segment itself.  Creating for example a random 5% of the Audience in another audience that would then be the control group for that audience.

Qualaroo Destination not Receiving Identify payload

We have set up Qualaroo as a destination, and the tag is running fine.  However we have identified a problem.  We’re calling identify() from the server side which means the Qualaroo tag does not receive the traits and id payload via Segment’s _kiq.push() call, precisely because we are firing identify from the server-side.As a workaround to this issue we were considering adding a custom source function in order to trigger the identify call on the client side.  We would use the page event to trigger the identify call. Something like this: async function onPage(event, settings) {   let eventBody = request.json();   Segment.identify({   userId: eventBody.userId });} Question: is this possible?  If so, are there any issues or risks with this approach?

Custom link based button inside engage email

Can we use a custom link as a ‘trait’ and then hyperlink it on a button in engage emails? I could not find a way to add a hyperlink to a button which is stored in a user trait. My use case - I want to send a personalised mail to my users which will be able to take them to their respective account pages (hence the custom link).

Using predictive lifetime value for Meta (FB) ads

I’ve created a predictive LTV trait and want to leverage it via FB ads, especially for new customer acquisition.  Is this limited to pushing it as an audience and creating a lookalike etc or is there a more sophisticated way to use this to find likely high LTV new customers?

Source Function Not Working as Expected

Hello all!We currently sync all of our Segment data into Snowflake but there is one event which has a format that upon Segments automatic un-nesting of properties into columns creates a column explosion and sync failure.To overcome this we have been proposed creating the below flow. Segment Source via Function - this function is defined to intercept the malformed property and correct it. Creating an identical event besides that one event property being changed. Segment webhook Destination - this is a webhook (actions) destination which has as input our source which brings in the malformed event. This destination has a mapping configured to send to the webhook url defined by the Segment Source via Function.All Testing is showing that the Source Function is behaving as expected where I can pass in an event with the malformed event and it corrects it. The webhook Destination when sending a test event shows that the event being sent was a success. The problem is that the Source, powered by

Integration of talon one and Segment engage

We use Segment Engage as our Engagement Platform and Talon One for promo handling. Wanted to check the viability of this use case if anyone else has tried this - When a user enters and audience/ or triggers an event, we want to generate a personalised promo code in Talon One and send it to Segment engage (in real timish) to send across to that user in an email. Specific question on this, how can we bring this incoming promo code from talon one into email template as a user trait. There is no default integration of Talon One and Segment for engagement use cases. (there is one for CDP data transfer, creating audience etc use case)

Giving access to a team member to create destination

This is my use case:I (Admin) have created a few sources. I have given access to source A to my team member, and they need to create a destination that links to source A. However, it seems like only I can create destination, and they cannot. Is there such a setting in User Access Management that would make this possible?The main point is that I don’t want to be the only one creating destinations, because I could make a mistake when connecting sources to destinations, since I have access to all sources. I’d rather someone who only has access to one source, create the destination.

Searching for Historic Call

Hi there, I am hoping someone can help me find a resource where I can search for a historic call? I want to look at the raw data from a call which occurred around 10 hours previously. I can search in Sources > choose source > Debugger for calls which have happened recently (screen shown below) but am hoping to find one further back than this.I’ve taken a look in the documentation but it’s a tricky one to search and I haven’t come across anything that I think would work.Any help or advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated!

Search Custom Hubspot Object By Multiple Fields

Hello everyone!I have an integration from Segment to Hubspot Cloud Mode (Actions) where I created a mapping for group calls for update some deal’s properties on destination.The problem here is that I have a custom property “empresa_id” for search the deal that may be updated, it’s an unique internal company ID on my application, but in Hubspot it can be repeated in other deal with the same “empresa_id” value so Hubpost API failed, because it supports only one record update by request.I have another property called “empresa_activa” (boolean), it describes if deal is active or not, I want to use that property for search the deal to update too:But when I configure it on mapping, the request always fails because the generated search in request is:"filterGroups": [ { "filters": [ { "operator": "EQ", "propertyName": "empresa_activa", "value": "1" } ] }, { "filters": [ { "operato

Facebook Clic Id cookie and FBP cookie are refreshed late

Hello everyone,We've integrated Segment with both Pixel destination and Conversion API destination on our web properties. The documentation emphasizes the importance of passing the `fbc` (Facebook click ID) and `fbp` (browser ID) cookies in the API events to allow Meta to deduplicate events effectively. However, we're encountering a synchronization issue described as follows:A user clicks a Facebook ad and lands on the landing page. Segment initiates, downloading the Pixel via its CDN and sends the `page_view` event to itself. At this point, Meta’s Pixel has not yet activated, so the event sent to Segment may contain either outdated cookies from a previous session or no cookies at all. Meta’s Pixel then activates and performs the following: Extracts the Facebook click ID from the URL and either updates the `fbc` cookie or creates a new one if it's not present. Similarly, it handles the `fbp` cookie, updating or creating it to store the browser identifier. Meta’s Pixel sends the `page

Using objects and arrays of objects as traits in email editor (Broadcast)

Can we use custom traits of data type objects and array of objects in email in Engage? For example - consider these traits - last_car_plan_selected (object type), list_car_policies (array of object type) Now, when I try using these objects in the email in a broadcast - I have used the traits as appearing in merge tags -  {{ profile.traits.last_car_plan_selected.name }},  {{ profile.traits.last_car_plan_selected.premium }},  {{ profile.traits.list_car_policies.$.items.policy_start_date }} etc. When this email comes from Segment, the values are blank when infact these traits have specific values in user profiles. I tried using different formats of this using liquid js but it seems nothing works.
